**Quick answer:** always check whether the offer **includes** the usual **8% holiday allowance** (_vakantiegeld_). The same “€80,000” headline can mean two different true packages — and two different net salaries.

## What to look for in the contract

Ask for these three numbers in writing:

1. **Base annual salary** (12 months).
2. Whether **holiday allowance** is included in that figure or paid on top.
3. Any **13th month**, bonus target, or pension contribution that changes take-home pay.

If holiday pay is on top:
